Dating Online - which site is right for me?
With more than 800 sites for people who want to try Dating Online, there can seem to be an immense choice for would-be daters. Similarities between sites can be confusing too, with some organisations owning several dating sites - Dating Agency UK for example, has sister sites in South Africa, Australia and Ireland. Other organisations have links to larger sites or will sometimes show member profiles from affiliate sites. This means that clicking on certain member profiles will take you to a different dating site - which may demand that you sign up to their own site in order to access that member’s photo or full profile.
Do I have to pay for Dating Online?
The choice of sites may be further complicated by the knotty problem of whether to pay or not to pay. I’ve found partners on both fee-paying and free dating sites, and wouldn’t want to claim that either option gives a better chance of finding love than another. Are there different kinds of Dating Online?
The variety of online dating and related websites is vast, so I have made the choice of sites easier by splitting them into categories: while this is a simplified overview, it does give a better idea of the types of online dating site that are available: Mainstream Dating Sites Mature Dating Sites Adult Dating Sites Gay/Lesbian Dating sites Under 25’s Dating Sites Faith-Based Dating Sites Executive Dating Sites Specialist Dating Sites Click here to go to my overview and links to

Some dating sites fall into more than one category, in which case I have linked information to their first listing. In addition, some sites have their own sub-categories for specific interests - such as adults looking for sex or casual relationships, or members who are only interested in chatting online. Many sites cover specific geographical areas or countries, such as Lovestruck London and Australia’s Hook Me Up. Other sites have areas within their sites for different cities, so be clear about where you want to look for a potential partner. Sites that aim at worldwide coverage will often have a section that allows you to exclude certain countries or areas from your search criteria. This feature is particularly useful on sites plagued by individuals searching for a partner in order to get married or relocate. Beware! One of my early attempts at Dating Online resulted in an incredibly long and convoluted email conversation with a woman claiming to be from the UK. I finally worked out that she lived in Singapore and merely wanted some gullible bloke to pay for her relocation to the UK, after which she would no doubt vanish into the ether. However – Don’t Panic! This sort of thing doesn’t happen very often and if you follow my guidelines, it’s pretty easy to stay safe on the Internet. Check out my
Do’s and Don’ts list.
